SAFLOK, SAMSUNG S1, CREATIVE VISION ELECTRONICS PARTNER TO INTRODUCE HOSPITALITY'S FIRST WIRELESS BIOMETRIC FINGERPRINT LOCKING SYSTEM

In a time of increased security awareness, hotel properties around the world are implementing new technologies to verify identification while maintaining a high level of guest convenience and satisfaction. SAFLOK in partnership with Samsung SI and Creative Vision Electronics has taken biometric technology and applied it to the security need of the hospitality industry with the introduction of the first wireless biometric electronic locking system.

While biometric fingerprint recognition technology is currently available for other types of applications, this is the first of its kind to be developed specifically for the hospitality industry.

The wireless biometric locking system allows guests the option of utilizing kiosks or wireless technology to completely by-pass the front desk adding another level of convenience to the guests' total experience. Additionally, it eliminates the need to carry a keycard allowing guests to move throughout the property without keys - all the while keeping a "finger" on the highest level of security.

The locking system interfaces with existing property management systems and meets all customer verification requirements. The system is completely voluntary allowing guests to choose whether they want to use keycards or go keyless. Whatever the guest decides, at no time is security compromised. The system uses an image template of specific points on a fingerprint, applies them to a carefully calculated mathematical formula or algorithm, which produces a series of digits unique to that individual.

The biometrical information is translated into a propriety encryption program that can be stored electronically, retrieved and used for comparison as proof of identification. At no time is an actual fingerprint stored in the system.

To capture the necessary data, the enrollment process or overall method of setting up the root of the system consists of five stages; adding biometric traits to the database, capturing the biometric image information, processing the biometric and converting the captured data into numerical information and finally verifying the biometric against the original presentation.

This patent pending locking system utilizes its own software, middle-ware and hardware that is unique to the wireless biometric locking system. These devices are designed to calculate, capture, save, retrieve, compare, match or reject each unique biometric identifier. No other program is able to recognize the information.
